#Excel4Youth – 4 Strategies to deal with Naysayers

4 Strategies to deal with Naysayers

Naysayers – someone who says something is not possible, is not good, or will fail

#1 Tell them “Thank you for sharing” and refocus, stay focus on your goal written down

if that doesn’t work, use strategy #2

Strategy #2: Ask them “What is their goal”? Ask them to show you immediately

if they can’t show, and not willing to show, then tell them “Thank you for sharing” and refocus, yes, refocus on your written goal

If the naysayers still insist to tell you “you aren’t good”, “you won’t make it”, “is not a big deal”, “you aren’t special”, “you are not worthy”, then use strategy #3

Strategy #3: Ask them “What result had you achieved so far”?

if they say “I got a high score”, then ask them “how consistent?”

if they can’t answer yes, then tell them “thank you for sharing” and you, refocus on your written goal, stay focus on your written goal.

If this #3 strategy don’t work, use strategy #4

Strategy #4: Ask them write an email to “Kent Lau Chee Yong” or to your teacher, or to your parent, or to your school leader and then tell them “thank you for sharing”, and you refocus back to your written goal, stay focus.
